Project: Monogram and Make a fully lined zip pouch from scratch!
Yes! We're gonna put in a zipper!
(sample on display at Humble Sewing Center)

Supplies:
1/4 yard main fabric
1/4 yard lining fabric
1/2 yard fusible interfacing (light to medium weight)
one 12" zipper
all purpose thread to match
Embroidery Thread for monogram
4x4 hoop and plastic hoop grid
Embroidery Machine and its accessories
(If your machine is not a sewing machine combo, please bring your sewing machine to this class.)
Zipper Foot & Standard Presser Foot
NOTE: You can bring any 4x4 embroidery design or just use your monogram features on your machine.

Supply List
  • Embroidery Machine in good working order.
  • Embroidery design of your choice loaded to your machine. (design must be no larger than about 4x5in.)
  • Jeans, capris or other pants
  • Embroidery design of your choice. Design must be no taller than 5 inches tall.
  • Print a template of the design or designs that you select. You need embroidery software to do this such as Designer Gallery Studio Plus, Studio III, Janome Digitizer, 4D Organizer, etc. If you cannot print a template than just get exace measurements of the design and simiulate a template. One way to do this is bring a scrap fabric on which to stitch a sample of the design.
  • Adhesive Sew & Wash Stabilizer
  •  Embroidery Needles
  • Embroidery Bobbins
  • Scissors
  • Straight Pins
  • Water soluble pen.
Optional
• Hot fix crystals, and wand, available at Humble Sewing Center.

Embroidering on pant legs is not a difficult. This will be a great class to attend if you have never done this before. Please arrive at least 15 minutes early to get setup.

Janome Embroidery Club
for owners of Janome Embroidery Machines (Beginners WELCOME!)

Jenny Gabriel is hooked on embroidery and wants to share the love!
Come to this fun class where you can:
  • Gain new embroidery skills
  • Gain new sewing skills
  • Make embroidered home dec., clothing, and crafty projects
  • Learn to get the MOST out of your awesome machine and its accessories!

March 2nd, April 6th, May 4th (club does not meet during the summer)

March 2nd Monogrammed Zip Pouch - Learn to sew an Exposed Zipper into your custom made zip-up pouch

April 6th Monogrammed Pillow Cover w/ Invisible Zipper - Learn to sew an Invisible Zipper & make a home dec. designer pillow (You can monogram or use the design of your choice on this pillow)

May 4th Easy Tote w/ Repeating Design Border and Button-up flap - Learn placement tips and hooping for repeating designs and learn to sew a buttonhole (Use the border design of your choice.)

BabyLock club - Feb. 5, 2010

Babylock Club is on Friday, February 5 from 10-12.

4 Red (or red and white) fat quaters (18" x 22")
red thread (metrosene and embroidery)
Tearaway and water soluble stabilizers
white hand towel or sweatshirt to embroidery an applique on straight pins
scissors
fiberfill for a small pillow (can stuff it at home)
sewing and embroidery machine with zigzag  foot & quilting bar
optional: Stiff wire brush (a few will be at class to use)
