In-the-Hoop Credit Card Case
from Designs by Marje
NOTE: You will learn how to make this awesome embroidery project entirely in the hoop of your embroidery machine! (requires a 5x7 hoop) In addition to the $15 club fee, you must purchase the design pack for this class. To get a special $5 discount on the pack, purchase it the night of our January club meeting for just $14.99. Regular price is $19.99 and well worth it. It includes the instructions and designs for 26 credit card cases with A-Z monogram. It also includes the design for a blank credit card case so you can add the design of your choice to the front. So cool! This was my first in-the-hoop project and it turned out great!
Bonus: Pintuck Foot and Guide Plate demo
(This foot is great for perfect pintucks, shirring and mock smocking!)
Supply List:
- Adhesive Sew and Wash Stabilizer or alternative Woven, water soluble stabilizer (not solvy)
- Extra bobbin wound with thread to match embroidery thread used on satin stitch outline.
- Embroidery thread for satin stitch, stippling, and for monogram. (The sample in the photo uses the same color for the satin stitch and the monogram. I chose a thread that matched my fabric for the stippling.)
- Temporary Spray Adhesive
- Scotch Tape
- 1 - 5"x7" fabric for the front of the cover
- 1 - 5"x7" fabric for the lining
- 1 - 5"x7" of thin batting (cotton is easier on your needle, but I used a polyester batting and it was fine.)
- 4 - 6"x5" fabric for the pockets
- 5x7 or larger hoop
- Embroidery machine and accessories. You do not need your sewing machine for this class.
- Curved embroidery scissors (Kai brand works great)
- Pre-wound bobbin
- Fabric cutting scissors
